IDEAS FOR
Are you a library or organization wanting to host an Indie Author Day? We’ll walk you through how to host an event, what resources are available to you, and how to make it a success!
Libraries and organizations can register to host an event any time throughout the year and we will continue to be a resource to help ensure your event is a success in your community.
Our traditional IAD has taken on a slightly new format: Friday, November 14th we’ll host live author panels throughout the day, concluding with the announcement of our 2025 Indie Author Project contest winners in a live, virtual awards ceremony. Join us on this exciting journey as we continue to grow this community!
Full schedule of events and sessions will be available in mid-2025.
WHY SHOULD YOU
For libraries and organizations, Indie Author Day is a fantastic opportunity to bring together local indie authors, writers, and readers for a day of education, networking, workshops, and beyond. Fostering a community of local authorship and providing your patrons with access to exciting new literary voices is a huge part of why Indie Author Day has been so successful. Here’s what past participants have had to say:
“This is just a short THANK YOU for pushing me to hold our 2nd Annual Indie Author Day. It was a huge success. Thank you for taking care of the content with the short videos. Our group watched three and they generated a ton of discussion. As a result of this program, I now have two volunteers wanting to start a library writing group.”
– WT Bland Public Library; Mt. Dora, Florida
Registration is free along with access to our resources, workshop videos, promotional graphics, and support! Join us for our eighth year and bring an Indie Author Day to your community!
We want to help make your Indie Author Day a success. Whether you’re a first-time host or a eight-time veteran, your event can be whatever you want it to be! For those wanting some more structure and guidance on how to schedule an event, we’ve put together this handy dandy sample program for you to use.
Going virtual? No problem! Here’s a guide on how to do so while still engaging your local author community.
Also, thanks to our generous industry partners, we’re able to provide you with a selection of on-demand video workshops to use as supplemental content for your event. We also provide you promotional graphics to help market your event as well as informational content to help you make the most of your Indie Author Day.
