Final Countdown to Indie Author Day!

We’re just a few hours away from the big day! Tomorrow, the much-anticipated inaugural Indie Author Day will be happening at libraries across North America. We couldn’t be more excited about this transcontinental day for indie authors to rally together for a day of learning, networking, mingling and celebration. Whether you’re a well-seasoned writer giving a presentation or an amateur author just learning the ropes, Indie Author Day is a unique opportunity to connect with your local writing community. Attend book signings, author presentations, workshops and more; and be sure to tune in for the digital Q&A with industry experts at 2pm EST to gain advice and insight into writing and publishing.

Be sure to take plenty of pictures at your Indie Author Day event and share them on social media using the hashtag #AuthorDay16. We’ll select a few of our favorite photos to include in our Indie Author Day recap!

Des Moines Public Library is not listed as one of the libraries hosting Indie Day observance. DMPL held an Iowa Author’s Fair, Sunday, October 2, 2015. I was in attendance. I am Lana Jean Mitchell, an Indie Author. My title is “A Birthday Story,” a children’s book. The event was well attended by authors from throughout the state and, patrons of the library.
